For all children ages 2-5, we offer a quality preschool program designed to enhance each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. We pride ourselves in offering our MSDE Accredited preschool program for all children in our care.
Our formal, structured preschool program is offered from 9 am-12 pm during the regular school year for every child ages 2-5 in our Child Care program.
We utilize the Creative Curriculum in all preschool classes, which allows our teachers to unlock their full teaching skills and potential, as well as develop plans appropriate to each child’s abilities.
Our MSDE Accredited program includes:
- Circle time is used to share ideas, plans, and observations that stimulate discussion, critical thinking, and listening.
- Fine motor skill activities to improve small muscle development and hand-eye coordination.
- Exercise and motor skills development in our secured outdoor play area.
- Math activities are presented in a fun and developmentally appropriate manner. Skills include: counting, adding and subtracting, graphing, estimating, etc.
- Science is hands-on and focuses on encouraging children to ask questions that lead to investigations and exploration.
- Language and literacy activities such as story time, letter identification, phonics, writing, and more.
- Fine Arts- Dramatic presentations that encourage creative expression and appreciation. Art exploration to allow concept development related to colors, shapes, and size. Music activities promote listening skills and also explore sound, rhythm, volume, and tempo.
- Center play- A balance of child and teacher-directed play in various centers such as blocks, dramatic play, science, library and listening center, and manipulatives/games.
- Gross motor play- We provide at least 30 minutes of outdoor time each morning (weather permitting), as well as other gross motor activities built into the day such as games, dancing, stretching, and more.
- Daily morning and afternoon snack- Our snack menu includes at least 4 fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as 4 whole grains each week.
